Partnering for Our Students
Pequot Lakes Public Schools 2026 Referendum
Investing in Students. Reducing Local School Property Taxes.
At Pequot Lakes Public Schools, we're dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for our students to connect, learn and thrive. Our district serves the communities of Pequot Lakes, Breezy Point, Crosslake, Jenkins, Ideal Corners, Lake Shore and Nisswa, and for generations, our community has supported strong schools, dedicated staff and involved families.
On Tuesday, November 3, district residents will consider a new opportunity to invest in our students and schools through an operating levy referendum.
Thanks to a new state program, voter approval will unlock new state funding to help support the day-to-day programs our students rely on. Because of this funding, the school board will be able to reduce existing local levies, so property owners in our district will see their school property taxes go down if the referendum passes.
If approved by voters, the Patriot Vision plan would:
Generate about $500,000 in new annual revenue for Pequot Lakes Public Schools
Bring additional state funding into the district
Support student programs, staff and day-to-day learning needs
Reduce school-related property taxes for district homeowners and businesses
Leave taxes on seasonal recreational properties unchanged
